Syrian refugees cook to better integrate
The smell of spices wafts through the small kitchen in the industrial district of Mont-Royal where four cooks are busy. They have an order to deliver: Syrian mezze, hommos (chickpea purée), mutabal (eggplant purée), cheese rolls, kibbe, vine leaves and kataief, the dessert.
These women are all Syrian refugees who arrived in Montreal....
