Our Concrete Actions to Fight Food Waste

Our Concrete Actions to Fight Food Waste

Every year, more than one-third of the food produced worldwide goes to waste. Behind this striking figure lies another concerning reality: food waste is responsible for approximately 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

Faced with this issue, it is essential to rethink the way we produce and consume food. At Les Filles Fattoush, this reflection guides our everyday actions. Year after year, we continue to improve our practices to reduce our impact and contribute to a more responsible food system.

Producing Just What We Need

One of our concrete actions is to produce according to actual demand. In collaboration with Lufa Farms, we have chosen to deliver only the quantities that have already been sold.

This model helps us avoid surpluses and significantly reduce food loss. Every order brings us one step closer to a clear goal: zero waste.

Extending Freshness, Naturally

Reducing food waste also means finding better ways to preserve food. We invest in technologies such as vacuum packaging and high-pressure processing (HPP).

These methods help extend the shelf life of our products without compromising quality or taste.

The result: less waste both in stores and at home, and products that stay fresh for longer.

Simple, Wholesome Ingredients

Our commitment also extends to the quality of what goes into our dishes. We prioritize simple, carefully selected ingredients and, whenever possible, ingredients from organic farming.

Donating Instead of Throwing Away

Even with the best planning, there can sometimes be unsold products. At Les Filles Fattoush, we make sure they do not go to waste.

Instead, we give them a second life by redistributing them to food banks or to members of our team. It is a concrete way to reduce food waste while giving back to the community.

A Matter of Culture

In Syrian culture, food is precious. Every ingredient is respected, every dish is prepared with care, and nothing is taken for granted.

This perspective continues to inspire us today. It reminds us that behind every meal, there is work, resources, and a story.

We know that perfection does not exist. But every action counts. At our scale, we do our best to move toward more sustainable practices, one step at a time. And thanks to you, this journey is possible.
